Less than one linear foot of artifacts, membership rosters, a list of attendees of the 14th association reunion (November 2003), and nine postcards of the C-7A Caribout airplane document the activities of the C-7A Caribou Association. Materials date from both the war and post-war periods, with all manuscript materials coming from the post-war era. Materials are in good condition.
Military administrative documents, postcards, photographs and slides document Charles E. Harris, Jr.'s tour of duty with the US Air Force in Vietnam, 1968. All materials in collection are original and from the war era.
This collection contains two artifacts of Montagnard origin: a crossbow with a quiver full of arrows and a rat / snake trap. It also contains instructions on how to use the rat / snake trap.
Less than one linear foot of photographs, correspondence and newspaper clippings document James E. Bone's service with the 483rd Tactical Airlift Wing (TAW) during the Vietnam Conflict. Photographs and newspaper clippings date from the war era. The letter dates from 1994.
Slides document Jerome Smolinski's service in Vietnam with the 537th Tactical Airlift Squadron, united States Air Force, 1960-70. Slides also depict, Thailand, Singapore, and Florida.
Approximately one and a half linear feet of artifacts, photographs, and escape and evasion maps document Lt. Col. Richard L. 'Dick' Baird's service as a pilot in the United States Air Force from March 1968 to March 1969. All materials date from the war era and are in fair to good condition.
Copies of the front two pages of 'The Knoxville News Sentinel' 27 January 1973 headlining the United States and North Vietnam signing the Paris Peace Agreement. Also included is a copy of an article from the 22 February 1968 edition of the 'UT Daily Beacon' titled 'VC Offensives Effect Villages Psychologically.'
The Robert Dugan collection includes 4 CD-ROMs; a videotape containing 8mm footage shot by Morris A. 'Doc' Kugler out of a Caribou over RVN in 1967; 1 Phu Cat Air Base history; 9 postcards of DeHavilland C-7A 'Caribou'; and a newsletter named Caribou Country, Cam Ranh Bay Air Base, And RVN July 1968. The CD-ROMs include a Caribou plaque dedication; Dugan photos-RVN 9/68-8/69; Reunion scrapbook 1991-1999; and the Department of Defense Specialized Flight information publication, Tactical Aerodrome Survey Directory South Vietnam (July 15,1969).
This collection contains two photographs, a Riverside National Cemetary brochure, an artifact from an airplane crash, a poster about National POW / MIA Recognition Day (9.19.03), and some correspondence describing the photographs.
Less than one linear foot of scanned newspaper clippings and an issue of Seventh Air Force News document Steve Haigler's service as a pilot of a C-7A Caribou during the Vietnam Conflict and various news from the Seventh Air Force. Newspaper is an original copy from 25 September 1968 and clippings are reproduced xerox copies.
One CD-R titled 'Phu Cat 537, 1967-1968' documents Second Lieutenant Tom Collins' service during the Vietnam Conflict as a pilot of the C-7A Caribou. CD-R contains photographs of various locations in Vietnam and is set to a montage of 1960s/1970s American pop music.
