Dresser also talks about target-selection process, maintaining unit morale, the 'Master Magnet Ass' award and 'short-timer's syndrome.'

'Jack' Spey records his answers to a questionnaire regarding the early days of the Special Aerial Spray Flight based at Langley AFB and the transition to Tactical Air Transport Squadron (Provisional) 1, also known as 'Operation Ranch Hand.' During this period, the unit developed their tactics and procedures for the application of herbicides for crop destruction and to deprive the enemy of natural concealment. An oral history from Mr. A. J. Folts, recorded 29 July 1976. Folts begins reminiscing about his childhood and the time he spent with the families of the officer corps around Fort Sam Houston. He remembers two men, SgtMaj Bartholomew T. Mulhern and Sgt Frank Moody and their unique relationship to Teddy Roosevelt and the Battle of San Juan Hill. He remembers Roosevelt's 1912 address at Alamo Plaza in San Antonio, warning of impending war. He also discusses the 24th Infantry's involvement in the Brownsville Riot of 1906 and the Houston Riot of 1917. Note: there is a section of this recording, beginning at 29:42 and ending at 32:20 which was recorded over. This section concerns cooking 'Sweet Breads.'
