Approximately eight and a half linear feet of documents, programs, newsletters, audio, periodicals, books, artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia document the actions and reunions of the Americal Division Veterans Association. Materials included date from the 2004 Reno, Nevada reunion and the 2006 Portland, Oregon reunion. The bulk of the collection was donated by Leonid Kondratiuk. Donor Dr. Richard Burkes Verrone attended reunions on behalf of the Vietnam Center and Archive and included his nametag for the 2004 reunion and various other memorabilia.
Collection also includes a four disk DVD set consisting of a journal, audio clips, and documents that were presented at the Americal Division Albuquerque, New Mexico Reunion. It also includes a commemorative DVD honoring Retired Lieutenant Colonel Charles S. Kettles (2 disc set).

Approximately 5 feet of textual materials consisting of daily staff journals, reports, memos, and other documents pertaining to the 4th Battalion, 3rd Infantry and the 196th Light Infantry Brigade between August 1966 and August 1971
One linear foot contains slides, the 163rd Transportation Company's Guidon and a book titled The Anonymous Battle which documents an unnamed battle in War Zone C, RVN fought by Alpha Troop, First Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment on 26 March 1970.
Approximately three linear feet of photocopies from microfilm and CDs of Daily Staff Journals, Morning Reports, Force Status Reports, map overlays, and Casualty Lists from the 196th Light Infantry Brigade; 1st Battalion, 52nd Infantry; 123rd Maintenance Battalion; 1st Battalion, 73rd Artillery; and, 1st and 2nd Battalions 81st Armor Regiment. Also included in the donation is a 1:250,000 scale Joint Operations Graphic (Air) map of Da Nang. The materials are dated 1965-1971.
This collection contains material related to the Americal Division Veterans Association. In the collection there are excerpts from Vietnam Network, the Americal Newsletter; newspaper articles; an Americal Newsletter in its entirity; VHS video Return to Vietnam and a yearbook from an Americal Division Veterans Association Reunion, 2001.
This collection also contains approximately 7 linear feet of textual materials consisting of map situation overlays and daily staff journals for the 5th Battalion, 46th Infantry between April 1968 and May 1971. The materials were used by David Taylor as research material for his book Our War, the History and Sacrifices of an Infantry Battalion in the Vietnam War.
Photographs, negatives, slides, newspaper clippings, patches, Vietnamese money, military payment certificates, holiday menus, and other ephemera documenting Don Kilgore's service in Vietnam as a civilian employee with the American Express Military Banking Division, based in Chu Lai, Vietnam with the 23rd Infantry Division (Americal Division) from May 1970 to May 1971.
A copy of the February 1971 issue of the 4th Battalion, 21st Infantry's publication The Gimlet; an in-country processing manual for the 381st Replacement Company, 90th Replacement Battalion; and other ephemeral material collected by Edwin Lausell during his service in Vietnam with Americal Division.
Less than one linear foot of museum artifacts including an air pillow, an Americal Division wallet, a pair of Ho Chi Minh sandals, a knife, and excerpts from a diary document Fred Salazar's tour of duty in Vietnam, 1969-1970. The materials date from the war era.
Approximately half a linear foot of slides, currency, Chieu Hoi leaflets, North Vietnamese propaganda, and Americal Division publications document Harold Lutz's service with Company A, 1st Battalion, 1st Infantry, 11th Brigade in Vietnam in 1968.
VHS copy of 8mm film taken by James Emmer at Fort Hood, Texas and during his tour of duty in Vietnam, 1968 and a copy of orders for individuals from Company D, 5th Battalion, 46th Infantry, Americal Division being awarded the Combat Infantry Badge. The tape depicts Companies A-E of the 5th Battalion, 46th Infantry, Americal Division. Emmer served in Company D, 5th Battalion, 46th Infantry, Americal Division.
Less than one linear foot of documents and photos detail Leonard A. Clapes' tour of duty in Vietnam with the Americal Division in 1971. The collection includes one photocopied manuscript of Clapes' memoir titled 'Under Difficult Circumstances'; Two photos of Clapes which accompanied his memoir manuscript (one from war era 1971, one from post-war era 1996).
Approximately nine linear feet of books, periodicals, newsletters, video, DVDs, photographs, reunion information, correspondence, articles, artifacts, and ephemeral material document Louis Rios' service with the Americal Division (Company A 1st Battalion, 20th Infantry, 11th Light Infantry Brigade, 23rd Infantry Division) in the Vietnam War, and his membership in the Americal Division Veterans Association after the war.
Two linear feet of biographical files, relevant articles, and letters about American POW/MIAs during the Vietnam War donated to the Vietnam archive by Raymond J. Essenmacher. The biography files are printed from Defense Intelligence Agency POW/MIA Branch List software. Other material, including articles and letters, is printed from the POW Network.
Less than one linear foot of documents details Robert G. Short's service with the 1st Battalion, 46th Infantry and his thoughts on Tim O'Brien's book 'The Things They Carried'. Materials date from post-war period and are in excellent condition. Issues of 'Americal Newsletter' and 'Vietnam' donated to the Vietnam Archive.
