General Note / OCR

L to R CPT Nguyen Hoang Minh, my counterpart - Huynh Trung Hieu Guerrilla leader of Hoa Hao Buddhist Sect - Cpt. Jones. This was my first meeting with Hieu. It was at one of his hideouts (notice that we had to come unarmed). We had an immediate trust in one another and became great friends. I lived with him for sometime while he was negotiating with the Vietnam government to join them in their fight against the VC. Hieu's Guerrillas were integrated into the VN regional forces. The VN government awarded Hieu the rank of Major. Hieu spent 13 years in a concentration camp and seven years of house arrest after the war. He still lives at Hoa Hao Village, Viet Nam and I am in contact with him. We communicate regularly, however much of our correspondence is monitored. I have difficulty getting money to him so he can live a better life.
