(USA) Roy Riddle was born in Italy TX in 1935 and volunteered for the draft in 1954. He completed Basic Training at Ft Bliss TX and Advanced Training in Equipment Repair and Repair Part Supply at Ft Lee VA. Roy was stationed in England, Germany, and Korea with the US Army Chemical Service, as well as with a counter-intelligence unit in the Deep South, before training as a fixed wing pilot. He served in Vietnam October 1966-October 1967 with the 219th Reconnaissance Airplane Company, flying observation, combat support, and other missions in O-1 aircraft. After teaching aviation weather courses at Ft Stewart GA, Roy returned to Vietnam April 1969-June 1970. He was commisioned and attached to the Command Aircraft Company on this tour, and retired from the Army in 1974.
