The collection consists of less than a quarter of a linear foot of daily staff journals of the 3rd Squadron, 5th Cavalry 'Black Nights' in Vietnam from March 1969 to January 1970. Also included is less than a quarter of a linear foot of photographs and documents regarding KIA from 3rd Squadron, 5th Cavalry, 9th Infantry Division. The materials include clippings, yearbook pages, and biographical casualty data. The materials are dated 2015, 2018, or are otherwise undated.

Less than a quarter of a linear foot of manuscript material comprising a tribute book for USAF (United States Air Force) pilot Colonel Wayne Wolfkeil put together by Joe Parnar and Robert Dumont. The volume contains the story and images of Col. Wolfkeil, his crash in Laos, and the Bright Light SAR (Search and Rescue) operations undertaken by the SOG (Special Operations Group) personnel, including the one led by Sfc. George (Wilson) Hunt of Spike Team Maine that reached the crash site two weeks later. Also included are copies of the documents Mrs. Anne Wolfkeil received from the military regarding the search for her husband and his official MIA/KIA status; his biographical entry from the P.O.W. Network website, a letter his son David wrote about his father to a reporter for the Northwest Florida Daily News in 2010, and an article on Col. Wolfkeil by Gordie Jones appearing in Lancaster (PA) Online in 2013. Also included in the collection is a published book written by Jerry Krizan and Robert Dumont entitled 'Bac Si: A Green Beret Medic's War in Vietnam. The book is the story of Sergeant Jerry Krizan, a medic assigned to Special Forces Camp A-331 in the III Corps tactical zone, 10 miles from the Cambodian border.

This collection consists of reproductions of original documents including: a photograph of Creighton while serving as Commanding Officer of the 3/11th Armored Cavalry Regiment; a list of American WIA and KIA as a result of an ambush along Highway 20 from action taking place on July 21, 1967; Valorous Unit Citation awarded to the 3/11th ACR for action during Tet; Presidential Unit Citation awarded to the 3/11th ACR for action between March 12 and April 1, 1968; written recommendation for the Presidential Unit Citation (11 pages); and a report on a return trip to Vietnam in March, 1998, to the area of operations of the 3/11th ACR during the war years.

The materials include clippings/excerpts; materials commemorating a gathering of Company C at Fort Benning, GA to honor 1st Lt. Bill Farmer, Artillery FO (e.g. KIA lists, images, articles/clippings, correspondence, excerpts of after action reports, personal narratives/notes), and A Journey: The Daily Record of an Infantry Rifle Company in Combat in Vet Nam, with Maps, March - September, 1967 (e.g. personal narratives, after action reports, maps/diagrams, clippings/excerpts/articles, WIA/KIA lists, POW reports, images, operational reports, award citations, correspondence, unit histories, rosters). The materials are dated 1966-1968, 1972, 2001, 2007, and 2015-2018.

Over 40 linear feet of notebooks, scrapbooks, photographs, slides, brochures, newsletters, correspondence, videotapes, flags, meeting minutes, financial material, and other administrative material document the David Westphall Veterans Foundation which was established by Victor Westphall to create the Vietnam Veterans Peace and Brotherhood Chapel (now the Vietnam Veterans Memorial State Park) at Angel Fire New Mexico on 22 May 1971 in memory of his son David Westphall, a United States Marine who was killed in an ambush at Con Thien on 22 May 1968. The inclusive dates of the collection are from the beginning of construction of the Memorial in 1968 until its ownership was transferred to the State of New Mexico in November 2005. 5 boxes of material from this donation relating to Victor Westphall and the state of New Mexico were transferred to Southwest Collections at Texas Tech University. There are document folders within the collection that will not be digitized.

Audiotape contains recordings of a firefight on 14 September 1969 on Highway 311 several miles south of Fire Support Base Buttons and Song Be City in which Sergeant Donald Sidney Skidgel was killed. Less than a quarter of a linear foot of typed transcript of the aforementioned recording that includes an introduction, index to radio call signals use, glossary, epilogue, and map. A copy of the Operational Report for August 1969 for Troop D, 1st Squadron (Airmobile), 9th Calvary, 1st Calvary Division (Airmobile), which contains the report with additional details, elaborations, corrections and classifications provided by Andrew Hudson. Three rememberences: one for First Lieutenant Michael Herman Thomas, one for Sergeant Donald Sidney Skidgel, and one for Private First Class John Anthony Halladay; these men were killed in action on September 14, 1969. All three rememberences were written by Andrew Hudson.

One folder of documents detail Robert Norlan Daughtrey's service in the United States Air Force, 1954-1975, including his service in Vietnam from April 1965 - February 1973, seven years of which were served in North Vietnamese prison camps. The materials originate from the war era up through the 1990s and include explanations of Air Force awards received by Daughtrey, newspaper clippings about the POW issue, and a description of artist Wilson Hurley's portrait of Daughtrey.

The materials include scout dog handler training documents, a Christmas pamphlet, correspondence, a list of canine KIA, reports, notes, personal accounts, and organizational clothing and equipment records. The materials are dated 1967-1968.
