The collection consists of approximately one linear foot of photographs and correspondence written by Vuong Sang and donated by his son Minh Vuong. Vuong Sang left Vietnam in 1974 and lived in the United States for 25 years. During his time in the US, he wrote letters to his friends and family still living in Vietnam after the fall of Saigon. The letters tell about life in South Vietnam under the new communist government. Photographs of Sang's family and friends are included with some of the letters. The letters are in Vietnamese and they are dated from 1977 through 1997 with the bulk dates being in the 1980's. The collection also contains a manuscript written by Minh Vuong titled 'Classmates in Times of War'. The manuscript contains an English translation and interpretation of some of the letters as well as Vuong Sang's biography.
