Military records and administrative documents, flight records, award certificates, drawings, photographs, and other items document the Career of Dudley S. Akins's career in the United States Army Air Corps and Air Force. Military administrative documents include U.S. Military Assistance Advisory Group documents, U.S. Air Force Special orders, personnel records, and individual flight records, created during the 1940s and 1950s. The photographs in the collection, taken by Akins while serving in Europe, document World War II and the Holocaust. Akins also collected magazine articles, newspaper clippings, and photographs related to the entertainment career of his sister, Future Akins, in the 1950s and 1960s.
