Less than a quarter of a linear foot of moving images and documents donated by Karl Polifka, who served first with the 21st Tactical Air Support Squadron (Qui Nhon and Gia Nghia), and was transferred to Detachment 1, 56th Special Operations Wing (Udorn RTAFB).

The moving images include a VHS copy of the documentary titled 'Ravens', which documents the role of the Ravens (covert Forward Air Controllers) in the Secret War in Laos to coordinate air support against the North Vietnamese and the Pathet Lao. Also included is a recording made by Polifka of one of his FAC missions flying from Udorn to Long Tieng. The collection also includes a memoir written by Polifka discussing his first tour as a Forward Air Controller in Vietnam and as a Raven in Laos.

Pierce titled An Infrantry Lieutenant's Vietnam and two CD-ROMs with photographs document his tour of duty with the 3rd Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Division, January 1967 to March 1968. The photographs are from the war era and were used in Pierce's book. All materials are in good condition.
