The collection consists of photographs, scrapbooks, an ash tray made from a shell, a plaque, a pink flight suit, a clipping, a National Red Cross brochure, a Du Drop Inn Recreation Center schedule, a Project New Arrival (Eglin AFB) certificate of appreciation, and a certificate for the Medal for Civilian Service in Vietnam. The materials document Carter Taylor's service as an American Red Cross Donut Dolly at Qui Nhon Airfield from September 1969 to March 1970. The materials also cover Taylor's time at Phan Rang and at Eglin AFB, where she taught at a Vietnamese refugee camp.

The films show Saigon, Nakhon Phanom, Thailand, Phan Rang Air Base, Vietnam troop drops, the Super Jolly Green helicopter, and the Tet Offensive and cover the time period from April, 1967 to February, 1968. They are contained in a metal box. The DVD is a compilation of all of the films set to music from the 1960's and clips of an interview with radio DJ Adrian Cronauer.

The collection consists of less than a quarter of a linear foot of photocopied textual records, photographs, and electronic media documenting Dr. John Taylor's experience working at Minh Quy Hospital in Kontum, South Vietnam from 1971 to 1973. The materials include articles, correspondence (including some letters in Vietnamese), Dr. Taylor's order to report for induction into the US Armed Forces, clippings, and a list of Minh Quy Hospital projects. Correspondence subjects include Dr. Taylor's antiwar advocacy efforts, his struggle with the military draft, and his service at Minh Quy Hosptial. Many of the documents include translations and other notes provided by Dr. Taylor. The materials date from 1968 to 1975.

The collection also includes one CD donated to the archive by Dr. John Taylor. The CD contains scans of correspondence about the Minh Quy hospital written by Dr. Taylor and other volunteers and staff members of the hospital. The correspondence talks about the operations of the hospital, the staff's efforts to get support for the hospital, the movement of the hospital due to the dangers of war, and personal correspondence between Taylor and other hospital staff. The CD also contains photos taken by Dr. Taylor while volunteering at the hospital. The materials are dated 1971 through 1975.

This collection also contains approximately 7 linear feet of textual materials consisting of map situation overlays and daily staff journals for the 5th Battalion, 46th Infantry between April 1968 and May 1971. The materials were used by David Taylor as research material for his book Our War, the History and Sacrifices of an Infantry Battalion in the Vietnam War.

An unpublished autobiography documents Carolyn Hisako Tanaka's life before, during, and after the Vietnam War. The first couple of pages of her autobiography talk about Tanaka family tree. Chapter 1, 'Life in Guadalupe' begins by talking about Tanaka's Grandfather and his coming to America by way of Guadalupe, Mexico. Chapter 2, 'Internment' examines her family's time in an internment camp during WWII. Chapter 3, 'Edison High and Nursing School' talks about high school and Tanaka's decision to pursue nursing as a vocation. Chapter 4, 'Emergency Room Nursing' discusses Tanaka's experiences as an ER nurse. Chapter 5, 'Travels with Ann' explores Tanaka's decision to move to New York, and her travel experiences with her close friend Ann. Chapter 6, 'Army Nurse Corps' talks about her career as an Army Nurse in Vietnam, Chapter 7, 'Letters from Nam' talks about the letters that she sent back home, while Chapter 8, 'Head Nurse Talks' recollects her position as Head Nurse in Vietnam. Chapter 9, 'Life after Nam' discusses her Life after Vietnam, while Chapter 10, 'Nursing Administration' discusses her career as ER supervisor and other jobs she held in nursing administration after the war. Chapter 11, 'Vietnam Women's Memorial' details her involvement with this organization. Chapter 12, 'Volunteerism' talks her experiences as a volunteer. Chapter 13, 'Miracles Happen' discusses some of the memorable events in her life. Chapter 14, 'Writing Since Vietnam' shows samples of some of Tanaka's writings.

Less than one linear foot of correspondence, military training manuals, issues of Preventative Maintenance Monthly Magazine, and audio letters document the service of Timothy Staats' military service with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict, February 1968 - January 1971. The letters provide an overview of one soldier's experiences throughout his service and have annotations added by Staats, which help to better explain his service. They include information and perspectives about boot camp and training, the day-to-day routine of a soldier in Vietnam, and a number of other situations. The letters and military manuals date from the war era, with some additional materials dating from the 1980s.
