Approximately 9 linear feet of documents, photographs, newsletters, newspapers, serials, museum objects, and microfiche donated to the archive by Mike Law and other members of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association (VHPA). The collection contains two different series of materials. First is official VHPA business papers, including correspondence, executive council meeting minutes, membership reports, and reunion planning materials. The second series of materials is incoming correspondence from individual members. This correspondence contains personal narratives about individual members' service in Vietnam, and in many cases includes copies of historical documents from each member’s own unit and/or their research such as unit histories, rosters, flight school materials, newspaper clippings, artifacts, photographs, calling cards, DOD certificates of vaccination, helicopter flight test guides, synthetic flight training system information/operation guides, instrument procedure guides, helicopter regulation questions, selective service notices of classification, military orders, certificates, and firsthand accounts. The materials are dated 1954-2016.
The collection also includes training materials donated to the archive by William J. Fitzgerald. The training materials are booklets from the United States Army Primary Helicopter School at Fort Wolters, Texas.
