Evans from February 3, 1954 to September 25, 1945; a Muster Roll of the Crew for February 3, 1945; and a November 21, 1969 report from the Commander-in-Chief, U.S. Pacific Fleet to the Judge Advocate General on the 'Joint USN/RAN Investigation on collision of USS Frank E. Evans and HMAS Melbourne on 3 June 1969 donated to the Vietnam Archive by Michael O'Brien. Also included in the collection are letters written by O'Brien in 2001 to J. C. and Sylvia Campbell in which he describes his experiences while serving on board the U. S. S. Frank E. Evans in the 1940s.

Various books and the VHS tape (River Patrol: The Game Wardens of Vietnam) document the role of the US Navy river patrol boats in Vietnam. The CD (Chet Atkins Plays Back Home Hymns) is an example of the kind of music Oswald and his crew listened to while in Vietnam. The articles in the collection deal with a number of various topics including alcoholism, veterans' adjustment to society after the war, and an article about the music of Chet Atkins by Edwin Oswald. An article, written in Russian, is also included and deals with Russian veterans recovering from alcoholism.

One binder of photocopies of a scrapbook of Frankie Michulka's life and experiences in Vietnam assembled by his fiancee Christine Owen. Michulka was killed-in-action in Vietnam on December 20th, 1967 while serving with the US Army 25th Infantry Division. The scrapbook includes numerous articles about Michulka, pages from his high school yearbook and his high school diploma, Christine's memories of Frankie, pictures, and letters, as well as images of medals Michulka was awarded posthumously.

Also included is an original document from the President of Vietnam in English and Vietnamese formalizing the posthumous award of the Military Merit Medal of numerous US Army personnel, including Frank Michulka (to include the Gallantry Cross with Palm). The collection also includes a 2012 Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (VVMF) calendar which featrues Christine's memory of Frankie and his picture.

A North Vietnamese propaganda pamphlet left at Fire Base Mary Ann after it was overrun by the Viet Cong. Andrew Olints of D Company, 1st Battalion, 46th Infantry, 196th Light Infantry Brigade, picked this pamphlet up on March 28, 1971 when his unit arrived at Mary Ann the day after the base had been overrun. This collection includes a large amount of letters between Andrew Olints and his family members during his time in the Noncommissioned Officer Candidate Course (NCOC) School and in Vietnam from November 1969 to April 1971. The collection also includes a boonie hat with patches, a Seiko watch, rosary beads, and a metal necklace with pendants and a cross.
