General Note: On 3 January 1967, C Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Mechanized Infantry, 2nd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, left their base camp at Cu Chi, 25 miles NW of Saigon to an area 6 miles West to participate in Operation Ala Moana. The operation was a search and destroy mission against the Viet Cong. Troops from the 3rd platoon check a Viet Cong house type bunker they found during the sweep. The camouflaged bunker was empty.
