General Note
Operation Cedar Falls mission was to clear Viet Cong from the Iron Triangle near Saigon, RVN. The mission of C Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Mechanized Infantry, 2nd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division was to sweep through the Filhol Plantation in search of fleeing Viet Cong units. During a sweep, some Viet Cong were spotted and fled. Soldiers of the company dismounted their M113 Armored Personnel Carriers and pursued. During the pursuit, a soldier tripped a booby trap. Three men were wounded, one seriously. SP4 Ronald P. Jenkins, medic, attended the wounded and then the three were evacuated. SP4 Jenkins attempts to lift the legs of one of the wounded and checking for additional wounds. Another soldier holds an IV. Another soldier is assisting SP4 Jenkins lift the wounded.
