General Note
Operation Cedar Falls mission was to clear Viet Cong from the Iron Triangle near Saigon, RVN. The mission of C Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Mechanized Infantry, 2nd Brigade, 25th Infantry Division was to sweep through the Filhol Plantation in search of fleeing Viet Cong units. During the sweep an anti-tank mine was found and destroyed. After lighting the fuse to attached to TNT, SP4 William C. Frank runs from the detonation area to safety. Photo by Robert C.
