General Note
Bic Pen taken off the body of Viet Cong Officer Killed on 28 Feb. 1969 outside Long Binh Combat Base by members of Company 'B', 2nd Bn, 18th Inf., 1st Inf. Div. The string attached to the pen was originally about 4 inches long and was tied to a safety pin. While Communist soldiers (Viet Cong) did not wear any insignia of rank, officers carried pens.
