General Note
Audio Letter home from Larry Shelton Side A This recording begins with radio traffic of patrols in the field. Shelton just returned from Bearcat Base, and wrote about it in several letters. Shelton is anticipating a move to a old French Fort, that reminds him of Indian forts. This fort is by Long Bien. Shelton has only 63 days left on his tour, he has not yet received his orders for reassignment following rotation to the U.S. The company's first sergeant, XO and another sergeant were injured when a mortar round fell short and landed near their tent. Shelton has not yet decided what car he is going to purchase when he gets home from Vietnam. Side B This recording is of radio traffic of patrols in the field, their coordination with aircraft, and their situation reports.
