General Note
Battalion aid station at Charlie 2, between village of Cam Lo and Alpha 4 [Con Thien], Quang Tri Province, South Vietnam. The aid station was on the north side of Charlie 2, near north gate for road to Alpha 4 [Con Thien]. 1/77 Armored Battalion, 1/5 Infantry Brigade [mechanized] used this aid station between 01 December 1969 and mid-January 1970. The structure on the left by the west entrance is a shower stall with two 55-gallon barrels containing water. One of the barrels had an immersion heater. The aid station was constructed with stout wood timbers the size of rail road ties. The entrances were wide enough to accommodate a stretcher. [NOTE: The medical aid station was remodeled between mid-January 1970 when 1/77 Armored Battalion returned to Quang Tri Combat Base from Charlie 2 and April 1970.] Kodak Instamatic camera, Kodachrome slide, developed by Kodak, stamped on slide mount in red ink: DEC69P9 number 10.
