General Note
Although this, and a number other structures were made of tin, this had to do with the nearness of the American base. The further away the older the tin, soon turning into the natural materials of the area. There were two, at least, issues with the wine drinking. The first was that it was very earthy tasting, and to the non-experienced, might induce a gagging reflex. The second, was that the reed reappeared quite rapidly. If note is taken of the method of getting in, and out of the hooch, a round log with notched became an adventure when it came time to depart. It was not good etiquette to simply fall off of the edge.
