General Note
Larry Willis was a volunteer into the U.S. Navy. He joined the Navy ROTC while he was attending college at the University of Texas in Austin where he earned a degree in psychology. He decided to join ROTC because he knew he would eventually get drafted, and by joining ROTC, he became an officer in his choice of the U.S. Navy. He served as the Top Secret Control Officer, Communication Officer, Treasurer, and Jr. Officer of the deck on the U.S.S. Reeves from November 1970 to October 1972. His ship helped directed and guarded aircraft carriers.
