General Note
Visit to Di Linh, South Vietnam, November 1971. This hilltop village is Djiring- one of the oldest Montagnard villages in Vietnam; with a population of 4000 before the Vietnamese came to Di Linh in 1954. At that time, then President Diem 'integrated' the highlands, relocationg Chinese and Vietnamese with the Vietnamese taking over the lands of the native Montagnards- primitive tribal people of different ethnic origin (Malayo-Polynesian) - [ to me reminiscent of our Native Americans] - receiving the second class citzenship treatment of our Negro countrymen- so you can picture their plight!
