- Chief Advisor for the Vietnam Project Ralph Smuckler corresponds with Secretary of State at the Presidency Nguyen Dinh Thuan throughout March, 1959. They discuss a new contract between the Vietnamese government and MSU, development of the NIA, travel arrangements for NIA students, visa regulations, and faculty visits. Many of the letters are accompanied by Vietnamese translations.
