- General Note
- Jack Ryan of the Michigan State University Vietnam Advisory Group's Police Administration Division corresponds intermittently with the head of the division, Arthur Brandstatter, from January to December, 1956. They discuss events in East Lansing, such as mutual friends and sports, and Ryan's progress in Vietnam. They also discuss personnel replacements, equipment purchases, the deterioration of Vietnamese security, enrollment in the program, Ryan's upcoming marriage and recent trip to France, and funding for the division.
