- Jack Ryan of the Michigan State University Vietnam Advisory Group's Police Administration Division corresponds intermittently with the head of the division, Arthur Brandstatter, from July to December, 1958. They discuss changes to the administrative structure of the Civil Guard, updates on family and MSU campus life, Brandstatter's recent travels, and the slowing progress of MSU reform in administration and ways in which to push those reform efforts. They also discuss staff reductions, equipment purchases, progress of the National Identity Card program, and relocation of offices.
