This press release by the Embassy of Vietnam summarizes a speech made by President Nguyen Van Thieu before the Congress of the General Association of Teachers in Vietnam on 6 June 1974. In the speech, Thieu underscores the refusal of the Republic of Vietnam to be forced into a disadvantageous agreement with the communists.
