- A collection of independent scholars co-author a document addressed to the editor of the New York Times to disagree with the appearance of advertisements in the Times that protest U.S. policy in Vietnam. The collective assert a number of facts regarding Viet Cong development and Communist rule in Vietnam, and the deterioration of political affairs in Vietnam.
