- General Note
- This document contains an International Boundary Study on the "Demarcation Line" of Vietnam that was issued by the geographer under the US Department of State. The demarcation line was established under the Geneva Accords of 1954 and ran just south of the 17th parallel. This line called for demilitarization within several miles of each side of the line. This temporary line soon became the official dividing boundary between North and South Vietnam.
