General Note: A letter from Glen L. Taggart, Dean of International Programs at MSU, to Edward E. Kunze, Director of the Office of Contract Relations at the International Cooperation Administration (ICA) in Washington, D.C. Taggart asks Kunze for assistance in expediting the release of Ralph Smuckler from his duties as Chief Advisor to the Michigan State University Group (MSUG) in Saigon, on December 6, 1959. Taggart requests that Smuckler be allowed to leave Vietnam early, to enjoy some time in Hawaii and time with his family in the U.S. before returning to his duties at MSU.
