General Note: A letter from Glen L. Taggart, Dean of International Programs at MSU, to Nguyen Dinh Thuan, Secretary of State at the Presidency in Saigon, Vietnam. Taggart asks Thuan for assistance in expediting the release of Ralph Smuckler from his duties as Chief Advisor to the Michigan State University Group (MSUG) in Saigon, on December 6, 1959. Taggart requests that Smuckler be allowed to leave Vietnam early, to enjoy some time in Hawaii and time with his family in the U.S. before returning to his duties at MSU.
