Wesley Fishel, Dean of the College of Business and Public Service (and former Michigan State University Group Chief Advisor) writes to U.S. Senator Mike Mansfield, offering his views on the recent attempted coup d'etat in South Vietnam. Fishel provides background on coup attempt, and discusses factors related to South Vietnam president Ngo Dinh Diem and his relationship with the Government of Vietnam.
