General Note
Robert Guillain, Far East expert and Tokyo correspondent for the French newspaper Le Monde, writes on his change of view since 1954 towards South Vietnam President Ngo Dinh Diem. Guillain gives a brief synopsis of the early history of the division of Vietnam as a result of the Geneva Accords, and then discusses changes that have occurred in South Vietnam since the beginning of Diem's administration.
