General Note
Edward Mitchell of the RAND Corporation in Santa Monica, California, provides a statistical analysis of land tenure and reform in South Vietnam, and how it is affected by government control. Mitchell discusses the inequality of land distribution, and states that two of its measures are the coefficient of variation of the land distribution of land holdings by size, and the percentage of land that is owner-operated. A table listing 26 provinces and comparing variables such as Government of Vietnam control, land tenure, mobility, and population density is included.
