General Note
Tran Van Chuong explains the details of the Geneva Armistice such as the events at Dien Bien Phu, the countries involved in the conference, the division at the 17th parallel, and consequences such as the fleeing of North Vietnamese refugees, the victory of the Viet Minh, and Vietnam's independence from France. Chuong also discusses the Bandung Conference and the general elections that were supposed to be held before July 21, 1956.
