General Note: Participant Training Program student Le Thi Bach Lan corresponds with Participant Director Elsie Cunningham from May 11 to July 26, 1960. In May, the two discuss per diem check payments, study trips proposed by Bach Lan's professor at Columbia University, brief updates on Vietnamese students in East Lansing, and travel arrangements. These topics continue into June, when they also discuss training extensions, grade transcripts, and housing arrangements for Bach Lan's travels. In July, Bach Lan and Cunningham discuss the Republican National Convention, meeting with Assistant Dean Ruben Austin, and Bach Lan's summer plans for the Tennessee Valley Authority.
