- General Note
- Participant Training Program student Le Thi Bach Lan corresponds with Assistant Dean Ruben Austin from October 4 to December 9, 1960. From October to November, the two discuss Bach Lan's denial of a Ph.D. program, the completion of her Masters, the subject of her dissertation with Professor Sayre of Columbia University, Bach Lan's arrangements for employment at the National Institute of Administration, bill reimbursements, and per diem check payments. They continue to correspond into December, when they discuss further training extensions for English instruction and her progress towards her Masters degree.
