General Note: Ph.D. training participant Tran Qui Than corresponds with Acting Coordinator James Hendry intermittently from March, 1961 to February, 1962. They discuss Than's application for an extension, his proposed thesis outline, potential Ph.D. candidates, complaints from other Vietnamese students concerning contract lengths, Than's thesis progress, another training extension, and the end of the MSU-Vietnam contract.
