- General Note
- Assistant Director of the Vanderbilt University Department of Economics David Cole corresponds with Stanley Gabis of the Vietnam Project from late September to October, 1959. They discuss the ongoing issue of Nguyen Duy Xuan, particularly, where and when Xuan will finish his Ph.D. dissertation. Xuan and Cole are of the opinion that the dissertation would best be completed in Vietnam, while Gabis expresses the concerns of the National Institute of Administration that the Ph.D. program should be finished in the U.S.
