General Note
The McDonnell-Douglas F-4 Phantom II is the most decorated jet fighter of the Vietnam War and can claim the honor of being the only combat aircraft flown by the Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps.
In air-to-air dogfights, F-4 Phantom Interceptors enjoyed a 5 to 1 kill ratio over the North Vietnamese MiG fighters which filled the skies over Hanoi. And during Close-Air-Support missiions along the perimeter of the Khe Sanh Marine base, F-4 Phantoms strafed, fired rockets and dropped napalm on advancing Viet Cong and NVA positions until B-52 Arc Light Bombers arrived to help lift the 66 days Siege.
