Royal Woodblocks of the Nguyen Dynasty are wooden plates engraved with Han (Chinese) or Nom (Chino trascribed Vietnamese) which were used widely for book printing in Vietnam during feudal time. There are now 34,619 woodblocks which are preserved in the specialized repository of the National Archives Center IV under the State Records and Archives Department of Vietnam - the equivalent of 55,320 engraved sides. Royal Woodblocks of the Nguyen Dynasty are the first artifact of heritage in Vietnam to be included in UNESCO's Memory of the World Programme on July 31, 2009.

This replica of a royal woodblock of the Nguyen Dynasty is painted black and includes a wooden stand. A plastic bar across the front of the stand reads: The Woodblocks of Nguyen Dynasty - World Documentary Heritage (in both English and Vietnamese). On the back of the stand is a label that reads: The Emperor Gia Long named the country Viet Nam in 1804 / The first reign of Veritable Records of the Great South, volume 23, page 13 (in both English and Vietnamese). The object measures 4 x 9 inches.
