Side A Copyright: Willie Nelson song This is an audio letter from Elza Miller to his wife, Sandra Miller. He reassured her that he appreciated the tapes but he gave her tips on getting better results with her tapes. He also told her that he appreciated her Christmas package but wasn't sure if he could wait until Christmas to open it. At this point a Vietnamese woman (Mamasan) sings on the tape. After the song he complains about his Sergeant and other difficulties between several of the officers. He is also frustrated with the drinking habits of some of the other soldiers (being rowdy late at night), and the laxness of soldiers on alert. He concludes by saying that he appreciates his family's willingness to mail things to him and looking after his pregnant wife. Side B He begins this side of the tape by gently complaining about the food (low quality of meat, no fruits, or milk). However, he is looking forward to the completion of a Meadowgold plant nearby so that he will be able to get milk and cheeses. He says that he is unsure of what to get his wife for Christmas but is trying to find something nice. He is also trying to find friends from home that were sent to Vietnam and asks his wife to check with their families in an attempt to locate them. The lack of motivation and laziness of the South Vietnamese troubles him. He also says that he is excited about his baby being born and getting back to the farm when his tour is over. He assures his wife that he loves and misses her as well as telling her that his is committed to her and will remain faithful.
