Tourane 1954, Danang 1965 The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same by Thomas A. Julian - In 1954, U.S. Air Force first lieutenant Thomas Julian was in Tourane flying a U. S. C-119 Packet. In 1965, Julian returned to Tourane - now called Danang - this time with the 311th Air Commando Squadron to fly the C-123 Provider. Had more than the place names and planes changed in the eleven years that had passed since his first assignment during the French Indochina war?
