Healing the Spirit - Native American Vietnam Veterans and PTSD article and photographs by Nancy Nichols Jagelka - For Native Americans, serving in the military is a way to pay tribute to family traditions. But even tightknit communities do not make veterans immune to the ravages of PTSD. Nancy Jagelka looks at how Native Americans who practice the traditional ways of healing are helping the VA to incorporate specific cultural needs into treatment of PTSD for both Native American and non-Native veterans.
