Scope and Contents

Less than one linear foot of an oral history transcript, military administrative documents, a dress flight suit, and two photographs document the service of Richard E. ^D<'Dick^D>' Moser with the U.S. Air Force in Southeast Asia, June 1967 - May 1968. The military administrative documents are copies of the originals, which were kept by Moser. The oral history transcript is of an interview conducted by Moser's granddaughter, Jessica Buschman, on 8 May 2000 for a class.

Biographical / Historical

Dick Moser was born in 1935 in Asheville, North Carolina. He joined the United States Air Force in 1957 and served until retiring in 1977 with the rank of Major. Moser served in Southeast Asia from June 1967 to May 1968, stationed at Takhli Royal Thai Air Force Base in Thailand. Moser flew over 120 combat missions, including missions during the Tet Offensive. He received 12 Air Medals and a Distinguished Flying Cross during his service in Southeast Asia.
