Photographs, negatives, slides, brochures, newsletters, newsclippings, menus and artifacts that document Philip Ackerman's life and career, particularly his tour of duty in Vietnam from 1968-1969 and in Thailand from 1973-1974.

Biographical / Historical

Philip Ackerman was born on 15 July 1940 and served on active duty in the United States Army from the summer of 1962 until July 1980. He was stationed with the 7th Radio Research Field Station at Ramasun Thailand from 1973 to 1974. After leaving active duty in 1980, Ackerman remained in the Army Reserve for the next 10 years. In the 1980s and 1990s, Ackerman worked for defense contractors and then later opened his own small business. He also served four terms in the New Hampshire General Court (House of Representatives). Ackerman passed away on 11 March 2000.
