Correspondence, photographs and negatives, newspapers and newspaper clippings, books, VHS tapes, audio magnetic tapes, Hollywood magazines, TV scripts, internet printouts, and race car paraphernalia document Joy Wilkerson's career in entertainment during the 1960s and 1970s, including her trip to Vietnam in 1967 where she was given the title 'Miss South Vietnam.' Among the correspondence are letters from military servicemen in Vietnam that Wilkerson adopted as pen pals.Biographical / Historical
Joy Wilkerson is an entertainer who appeared on television programs and in Hollywood feature films. In addition to her acting she worked on behalf of numerous charities including the following: Blind Children's Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis, March of Dimes, and the U.S.O. During the Vietnam War, Wilkerson performed in Vietnam with Dale Robertson in 1967.- 1
