Biographical / Historical
Edward Westrick enlisted in the U.S. Army following one year of college, Westrick was assigned to the Army Security Association while in the Army. Westrick underwent basic training at Ft. Dix, NJ, followed by a year of Vietnamese language training, following his language training, Westrick received training in radio intercept. In April of 1970 Westrick arrived at Tan Sohn Nhut Air base where he was processed. Following his processing Westrick was transported to the Da Nang area. Westrick served one year in Vietnam returning in April of 1971. While in the U.S. Army Westrick was awarded the following medals or citations: National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal.
