Scope and Contents
A copy of Lawrence Holmberg's vita, his transfer and discharge papers from the armed forces and his manuscript of Vietnam memoirs document his Vietnam experience with Southeast Asia Pictorial Center (SEAPC) and 221st SIG Comp, February - December 1971. The vita and manuscript are from the post-war era and the military papers are from the 1970s.
Biographical / Historical
Lon Holmberg (Chicago, Illinois) entered the United States Army May 14, 1970. From February 1971 to December 1971 he served in Vietnam and was stationed at Long Binh, Phu Bai, and Saigon. His unit assignments were with Southeast Asia Pictorial Center (SEAPC) and 221st SIG Comp. He was a still photographer and General Abram's personal photographer. Holmberg received the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two stars, and the Vietnam Campaign Service Medal with sixty Device. On May 13, 1976 he received a honorable discharge from the Armed Forces.
