Scope and Contents
The collection consists of materials documenting MP Specialist John DeGroot's time at Military Police School at Fort Gordon, GA, his service during the Vietnam War with the Americal Division, and his post-Vietnam War activities including his involvement with the Americal Division Veterans Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, his continued contact with Vietnamese policemen and interpreters with whom he worked during the Vietnam War, and his post-war service posts including air transportation positions with the 91st Aerial Port Squadron (later merged with the 28th Mobile Aerial Port Squadron at O'Hare ARS Chicago) and the 928th AR Air Force Reserve.
