Scope and Contents
Slides, negatives, photographs, military orders from the Department of the Army, unit yearbooks from the 52nd Security Detachment, 52nd Combat Aviation Battalion in Pleiku (1970) and from the 1st Aviation Brigade, II Corps (1970-71), and a set of Army fatigues document William Bruce Bartow's service in Vietnam with the 52nd Security Detachment, 52nd Combat Aviation Battalion, 1st Aviation Brigade, 4 February 1970 to 9 March 1971.Biographical / Historical
William Bruce Bartow served with the 52nd Security Detachment, 52nd Combat Aviation Battalion, 1st Aviation Brigade in Pleiku, Republic of Vietnam from 4 February 1970 to 9 March 1971.Bartow was accepted to graduate school in Norwich, England, in April 1969. He was drafted in August 1969l sent to RVN in February 1970, and discharged in March 1971. He was able to return to graduate school in England in September 1971.

3 letters from Bartow's parents, dated 1 July 1970, 5 August 1970, and 26 October 1970. The call referred to in the letters was made through the MARS system which was the only way Bartow could communicated with his family in the States, and he stood in line 2 hours just to make calls to his family
