Less than one linear foot of documents comprised of a photocopy of the Watch Officer's Log kept at the Navy Operations Center of the COMNAVFORV Staff in Saigon during the Tet Offensive.
Biographical / Historical
Theodore Kramer was born in 1934 in Greensboro, North Carolina. In 1957, Kramer volunteered for the United States Navy, beginning a twenty eight and a half year career with the military. From 1963 through 1965, Kramer was ranked as a lieutenant and served with COMPHIBGRU One (Commander Amphibious Group 1), stationed at Subic Bay Naval Base, Philippines. During this tour, Kramer served as a shipmate with Dr. James Reckner, Founder and Director of the Vietnam Center. Kramer then returned to Southeast Asia and served as Chief of the Navy Operations Center, COMNAVFORV (Commander, Naval Forces Vietnam) staff in Saigon, 1967-1968, ranked as a lieutenant commander. During this time, Kramer was involved in the Tet Offensive. In November 1985, Kramer retired from the US Navy as a captain, having received the Navy Unit Citation and the Navy Achievement Medal. He then moved into civilian life and became Lead System Engineer with Lockheed Martin in Moorestown, New Jersey.
